As an ironic casting choice, it was pretty great. Remember though that IKWYDLS was released in Oct 1997; Buffy was only in the early part of season 2, on the WB which didn't even reach all markets. I'll bet only a fraction of the film's audience actually watched Buffy.

Is the chick from "The Big Bang Theory" too old?

Aaaaaand now I recall that it probably wasn't on Scrabble… Maybe it was Lingo, or Greed, or some other show he hosted. Whatever, it was still funny.

I Still Know What Those Did to Me Sixteen Summers Ago

Indeed. Also due to the presence of Dick Clark, greatest game show host ever. (Well, OK, a tie with Barker and Trebek.)

Scrabble featured a priceless line by Chuck Woolery (featured on one of those "Funniest Game Show Moments" collections)… In the brief "meet the contestant" banter, he asked a woman to name something interesting about herself; she replied, "Well, one interesting thing is I've never had a cup of coffee." Chuck, ever

Boggle

Reminds me of the good old days of TNT showing Law & Order all afternoon every day. (The original L&O, mind you — the good one.)

Helen Hunt?… Ohhhhh, for Mad About You. I'll tell you, that show slips my mind completely, every time I think about '90s comedies. It apparently ran for seven seasons (Hunt winning four Emmys) on NBC, during the heyday of comedy juggernauts Seinfeld, Frasier and Friends. Can Paul Reiser be so bland as to wipe it

SHOCKING NEWS ITEM: Many, many men (and plenty of women) would rather look at Sofia Vergara than at Emily Nussbaum. I'm sure the latter has a twitter feed full of people who are tons of fun at parties. In other news, the world keeps on turning.

Mariska Hargitay? She only won the emmy once, and hasn't been nominated since 2011.

Which is almost made up for, by the awesome, awesome outfits. They got the Season 1 clothes right, that's for sure, and putting Alison Brie in them is so… just so….. I can't even think right now.

Where's that chick from Punky Brewster? Damned kids, always gettin' stuck in refrigerators.

Well, this thread sure went south fast.

I suppose, but on the other hand: Swedish. She and Malin Akerman, showing us all how free and natural it is to be out there in the open.

An hour in, and no mention whatsoever of Riki's major nudity in that movie with Rob Corddry? Such restraint, AVClub.

Irrationally? No.

Well, it was certainly no 227, thank you very much. But seriously, yeah, when the Family Sitcom landscape featured such shows as Webster, Charles in Charge and ALF, it pretty much blended right in.

"It's Sunday, 4:52 in the A.M, and that means it's time for 'Perspectives'. I'm your host, Lionel Osbourne…"

Nobody will see this comment, two years late, but I'm reminiscing about the great early years of ER and just want to say YEAH Nurse Wendy! I had the biggest crush on that cute little honey.
