@helifreak: AVG is my favorite, has a great free edition (no catches), and has a pretty small footprint. Recently saved a machine from the first trojan I've gotten in 7+ years. Also booted a trojan off an acquaintance's machine that HAD McAfee. Poor guy - he'd bought it retail the day before - $50 - down the drain.
