The slapping/squealing was something that "Mr. Boddy" did to Yvette.

Apparently John Landis (who has a story credit) approached Tom Stoppard to script, but the later gave up after making no progress.  I'm amazed that the mind behind The Real Inspector Hound couldn't make Clue funny.

If only Tim Curry had reprised his role as not-Simon Cowell ….

Wait a minute.  It was all the way back in S1, right, that Shawn literally took Gus's valuable comic book out of Gus's hands and ripped it to shreds, for no good reason, and never even apologized?  And Gus didn't appear to hold it against him?  If anything, there relationship has grown a million times nicer since then.

The Reverend Jim thing occurred to me too.

The voice of that Asian woman?  Also the voice of Bobby Hill.

Gort, Klaatu barada nikto!

"no glove lost, no love lost"

Stop trying to make "FETCH COBRA COMMANDER!" happen.  It's not going to happen.

THANK YOU.  I searched all three pages of comments to see if someone had picked up on that.

This is all Gretchen Weiners' fault

Honestly, I was expecting multiple threads about that movie, which is a bona-fide classic.  AVClubbers who haven't seen it: I'm pretty sure the whole thing's on YouTube.

I don't dispute that Apocalypse Now is a masterpiece, but an ending that works?  Hmmm….

Whittaker Chambers, of all people, wrote an epic takedown of Atlas Shrugged in the National Review when it was first published.

Shouldn't the sequel to Atlas Shrugged be called Skyfall?

He was very good in Safe.

Yes, exactly.  The Senate had actually formed a committee to investigate anti-Nazi sentiments in Hollywood movies (which was called off on December 8, 1941).

You get the market you pay for.

I also didn't get it, mainly because I've never watched My So-Called Life.

It is a pity that the show's by far best storyline was handed to its by far worst lead actress (though to be fair, she's gotten much, much better as the show went on, particularly now that the writers are writing to her strengths).
