That song was massively popular around the world, even in China. It was an earworm for me well before I even started paying attention to '80s music. The idea that you'd have to be an Anglophile to know it is … untrue?
This show was always desperately uneven, but the previous few episodes were reasonably consistent. I thought maybe they had figured the formula out. But no, this one was aggressively non-clever (with a few moments with an oddly racist subtext). A terrible note for the show to go out on.
