yes, exactly! Julia and Joel have not reached outside themselves for help or advice. No adoptive parent support groups, no counseling for them, Victor or Sydney (who may need it the most), no visits with the social workers…nothing.

Remember, Amy's only 17 too! Adult decisions are scary and emotional when you're just on the cusp of adulthood.

Wow, I must have been a major rule-follower because I always accepted the fate given to me by the book. I feel like these books were weirdly disturbing for little kids—I remember dying from falling off a carnival ride and being electrocuted in the bathtub…fun times :-/

I also want to add that I had the women's gymnastics team final results ruined for me by a local NBC radio commercial. I think it's just the backround music playing on the loudspeakers in the arena. I notice it a lot when I'm watching gymnastics! It's awkward though :)
