@ Norse God-preach it brother! Vegetarian food isn't that hard because of beautiful cheese and other dairy.

I actually am not too excited to see Top Pastry Chef. Not because being a pastry chef is easier (it is at least as hard, if not harder), but I'm not sure how the emphasis on precision and planning will trasnlate to TV drama. I don't see the improvisation that makes Top Chef fun to watch.
That said, if it can be as

It seems to me that if they are going to keep up the masters show, they really need to have at least a few big names each time out, along with a larger group of folks that are regionally, but not nationally well respected.

How many more
masters will they be able to come up with? I'm sure there's a few seasons here. Sooner or later they better land Kellar (Thomas, that is).

Ed, you're my fucking hero-done and done.

I agree with fuzzy-it is unlikely that the top four will emerge unscathed, someone will go home. My money is on one of the brothers.

@jake
Yup, it still is amazing that most don't do this. Being both a pastry chef and a regular (lack of a better word chef) is damn near impossible. Being a regular chef that knows a couple of desserts isn't too difficult. What is especially crazy is that all of these contestants either own or work in restaurants

@ wo
the big difference is that they had to include pig, but weren't restricted in terms of the other ingrediants at all.

I was impressed with little Eli's approach-I'll just start chopping shit and hope the brothers can use it somehow.

Sorry, what I should have said is that every dish be comprised entirely out of pig-more pig please!

Chemistry don't mean shit
After the famous Dale/Lisa blow up a couple of years ago, I assumed that team chemistry was at least somewhat relavent for RW. The blue team seemed so cool, while the red team was giving off serious toxic vibes, and yet, the red team kicked ass, and despite the delays, produced a consistent

I agree, and I think that was why there really wasn't a clear team leader in either case

I gotta say I'm getting kind of sick of this vegan shit. My new goal in life is to become a celebrity, appear on top chef as a guest judge, and demand that every dish be comprised primarily of fatty, delicious, pig.

@Chill.TV
I agree that it was shocking that Jenn didn't take control especially since she wasn't dealing with any other very strong personalities (Mike can be douchy and chauvinistic, but even he knows that Jenn's got the skills to run the show).

Yeah, the irony of serving seafood in a city surrounded by hundreds of miles of dessert.

I'm sure it will be one of the brothers.

Eli and Blias
I'm not sure if this has been mentioned before, but I was watching an old episode of top chef Richard Blias vs. Batali, and I'm almost positive Eli was one of Blias' sous chefs. Makes sense since their both from Atlanta.

Any doubt about who was going home was instantly gone the moment Ash decided to take Mike's advice and not go with his insticts (granted, his instincts may not be that great, but still)

I too will admit my love for Kev

mike-if Robin is the gold medal chatterbox on this show, you're the fucking front runner for silver. Take a hint from the Voltagio brothers, who limit their vocabulary to these three phrases:
"I hope I beat my brother"
"leave my brother the fuck alone"
"Given the impossibly high standards I've set for myself, my food
