I like season 4 of BtVS. But 7 — that is not good. Though it does feature 1 truly great episode, "Conversations With Dead People". Proving that "not good" is a relative term for that series.

Shame. His score to Aliens was terrific.
I was in kindergarten when the Exorcist first came out. I remember my older sisters went to see it and it scared the beejeezus out of all of them. I saw the commercial one evening and immediately wet my pants. To this day when I hear Tubular Bells I have to tighten up my bladder.
I would be very interested in seeing this movie….as long as Damon Lindelof didn't have shit to do with it.
Why is Batman's voice always such a distraction in all of these movies? It almost sounds like they're running some sort of FX on it to sound a little bit like Kevin Conroy.
I watched AOS for most of its first season but lost interest. I did watch Agent Carter and I really enjoyed that. Shield lacked… charisma. Agent Carter has tons of charisma and chemistry between the characters. I once brought home a report card in middle school where I got straight Cs, one D, but an A shop. By…
This ep was a solid A in my opinion. And probably the best yet.
I remember hearing the late Dana Reeve saying how good a friend he was to Christopher Reeve (they were roommates at Juilliard) and was at his bedside after his accident. He even helped pay for some of the expensive treatments for Reeve. He was a fine comedian but it sounds like he was an even better friend.
Holy shit, you just made me remember that! That was classic! She played herself on a date, right? And Rev Jim wrote lyrics to the "Bob Newhart" show theme. I remember watching that as a kid and laughing my butt off…"HA!" Thanks for the reminder.
I like that? But which Star Trek? DS9 maybe?
Phonte should write for AVClub. His observations are pretty spot on. He really does know his television, that's for sure!
Congratulations Donna! Your reviews were always the first I sought out. And I always appreciated the fact that you seemed to put as much thought into your critique of the show as the people who made it did. And of course, a big thanks to Vince, Bryan, Aaron, Anna, Dean, Betsy, Giancarlo, Jonathon, Bob, Laura,…
This is NOT the ending I want at all. It's just that I'm so used to being kind of let down by shows and their endings (LOST) that I think I'm doing a preemptive strike. I keep wondering, "gosh this show is so wonderful and so innovative that how in the world did it get sold in the first place?" I mean, TV execs are…
Well, as you can see, I've woken up ridiculously early (I'm on the west coast). Why? Partly due to the time change I'm sure, but also partly due to a wild dream I just had about Breaking Bad. A wild, and I think revelatory dream.
If you want to read my thoughts on how it all ends then read on below. (I know I promised…
Like I said, I'm done speculating because whenever I do, the exact reverse opposite of what I think is going to happen happens. But this I know for sure…. he's coming back to get Uncle Jack… and to also kill his two former business partners in Gray Matter. How dare they belittle Walter White's contributions to the…
Spot on man.
At this point I kinda picture the average Skyler hater as someone slightly overweight to flat out obese, in a little-too-small-tee-shirt, littered with crumbs, yelling at the TV. Basically, someone that looks a lot like me I guess.
I love you too Johnny Cakes.
Just found this here — not a review of last week's ep, but a perfect distillation of the "psychic trauma" the show puts you through http://www.newyorker.com/on…
