It is also good to figure out record labels. Electronic music is built around singles and EPs more then proper albums (which honestly many a great producer cannot put out a decent album). Knowing a label you like and trust helps when you come across a producer you never heard of.

Agree. Like so pretty much every electronic act that gains traction in the indie press people need to get out there and actually listen to what is going on. People are just so conservative these days.

Everything you find interesting and innovative about James Blake, or who ever it is you like is being done better by other people who don't fit into the indie format, so they don't get covered by the indie press. That's the fact.
