Same here, Pizza Hut never could work in Buenos Aires (or in Argentina in general). Too many good pizza places everywhere.

Yep, and Ice Age 4 was the biggest in 2012 I think.

Produced IN Mexico, with animation done also in digital studios in the northern suburbs of Buenos Aires. It should not be a surprise, have you seen popular films from Corea or China? Lots of cheesy (and sometimes good) CGI.

Robotech! The day something happened to the video and half an episode was shown in English (instead of Spanish) all the school was talking about that (Argentina). The intro music is still superb.

The World Cup is bigger than the Olympics. Countries stop working when their team is playing. Streets deserted, bars full, and then a goal, and all the world screams at once. When Argentina won the semi-final against Italy in 1990 people poured into the streets chanting and jumping, it was like a revolution.

In Argentina, Ramones too, every year a concert (or many); in my high school Ramones was the soundtrack.

I remember when the last Sex and The City episode aired in Israel. Te country virtually stopped in its tracks. Also Argentinean telenovelas in Israel. One of my worst memories is walking in the streets of Tel Aviv and looking at a 5-store sign of "Rebelde Way" (teen musical telenovela).

giggity… But that is only if you live in the States, believe me that Thailand or Argentina (interior provinces) nobody is going to flinch if you are dating a local 17 yo beauty.

I vaguely remember 8-tracks.
@avclub-146bc30c345d31f3468fec764a1970e1:disqus I stand corrected. And here I was thinking that the myth about the happy 50s was true. Too much Back To The Future in my youth, I guess.
