The Great Valerio

I cannot get over how good this season turned out to be. I love that it's turning into equal parts tragedy and something resembling a coming of age story for Valerie.

To be fair, a shit-ton of people who like the show went in expecting disaster, and then Tolman, Freeman, and Thornton gave it legitimacy for them, rather than the "brand" itself, which made a lot of people skeptical in the first place. Civil, genuinely interested question: How would you feel about it as a miniseries

Colin Farrell is very good at his job when he's given great material.

I read all of the words in your post, but all I heard in my mind was "Let's put Jessica Walter in Season Five".

While the "riddled with holes" bit was more directed at the Freak Show side of the equation (Really? After all this This Is Our Home and This Is Our Family business all season not a single person objected to Pepper being dropped off with strangers that previously abandoned her?), there was one thing on the Asylum

God, Rabe would have been great as Maggie. Roberts just isn't selling any of her motivations, or the dynamics that she's supposed to have with the other characters. Like even with their age differences, I totally didn't read Stanley and Maggie's relationship as a borderline father/daughter Paper (Murder) Moon type

Winningham was the best part. I would love to see her join the regulars at some point, but I've been really impressed with what she's been pulling off in these one-episode stints. She creates so much in just a handful of scenes, in both of the last two seasons.

I don't have time for you to try to reason with me, I have delusions to maintain.

First of all, good job Naomi Grossman.

(Wonders what #1 could possibly be)

I would do almost literally anything to see a third season (in 2025, Before Midnight-style) that's a straightforward drama following Valerie without the in-show cameras. Kudrow nails suggesting what this woman is really like when there's not people watching her so hard that I would love to see her performance when the

Oh my god I didn't even realize there was a third layer.

Wittrock, or someone. I'm throwing some side-eye at the fact that every shot his ass is in is pointed at a 0 degree angle to the back of his head.

Considering how much time this season spends sermonizing about everyone's a freak and we all need treat everyone with more empathy, treating an obese woman as a grotesque prop is super-weird.

AHS and Nip/Tuck both exclusively treated queer men as salacious, gross, sad, or campy. It's so bizarre to see in shows that are otherwise SO CLEARLY created by a gay man.

Liked specifically for shouting out the "Of course you love puppies. Now suck my cock." bit. Denis O'Hare should be in everything, and with Conroy gone, he's really sneaking up on being this season's cast's #1 unsung hero.
