Losing Michael O'Hare as Commander Jeffrey Sinclair was a personal tragedy for me.  He was the central focus of the show - the main character.  Besides liking Michael on a personal level, I enjoyed his depiction of Sinclair.  He gave him some much needed weight, and gave him a level of contemplation that showed how

While that take on Yar is certainly interesting, I am always highly suspect of any praise of Kira Nerys, as she is so similar to my "tough, female executive officer" Lt. Commander Susan Ivanova of Russia.  By extension, that also includes my original executive officer from the pilot, Lt. Commander Laurel Takashima. 

As you should already know, the entirety of Babylon 5 was planned out ahead of time.  Unlike Deep Space Nine, I had a war planned from the beginning, not just as a stunt to improve poor ratings.  I knew I would need a small, powerful warship to assist my characters in their prosecution of this war (and eventually wars
