I want Tom Hardy as Bane reading audiobooks, it was a fantastic voice.

Mark Kermode  (who is an excellent film critic) on his BBC 5live review of the film noted that the ending was very open to interpretation, a la Inception, as the film dealt with visions and dreams a fair bit and basically said what your friend said without saying it cause of spoilers.

My issue with By Any Means Necessary is that it has that a fair bit of that really clunky dialogue, (particularly from minor characters and even more so if those characters are lower down on the socio-economic rung) that plagues the first season.

Probably those to an extent, but they still tow the party line and a minister can be outed easily. Outside of the PM it is the Treasury which holds the next biggest influence traditionally and certainly in the Blair/Brown years.

Wales is amazing just avoid the post industrial towns and stick to the touristy bits and lovely villages and small towns and countryside and you cannot go wrong, The countryside is stunning and the pre-20thC Welsh architecture is amazing in a very understated way. Just expect a little rain. I also recommend reading

Rich Hall’s Fishing Show is amazing. An odd, caustic and vaguely surreal show and Hall's co-star and frequent collaborator the Cnadian Mike Wilmott is also excellent in it and a very good stand up in his own right. Well worth tracking down.

Just to pedantically correct something, the church would have never been a Catholic church (although some Anglican churches in areas without a specific Catholic church do church share and allow Catholics to use the Anglican church).
