I agree — but I try and justify it by thinking they're basically adopting him as a sort of sidekick. Plus, he's a magical superbeing. It's sort of like harry Potter — you might assume at first glance he would be regarded as a nerd — but he's actually infamous/mysterious enough that everyone wants to be his friend.

Wait…so this thread has nothing to do with Chris Ware?

Actually, Apple's got enough money to buy Disney in cold hard cash. They're mind-boggingly loaded.

That Crunchy is playing the loooong con, man. It ain't over.

Yeah, Flameshield. It's why he's blue. My assumption has been that you can still feel the heat — enough to cook him a bit more? — but not burn up.

They may have bailed on the party but at least Finn got the BUNS.

I liked this ep, a lot. Somehow it managed to be about character relationships while also capturing some of that fun, anarchic vibe from Season One that's felt lacking lately. It's like they can do one or the other but have a hard time pulling off both tones in the same ep. Not so here. I was worried when Ward stepped

I kind of like that everyone's basically kind in the show. Not to say that means it lacks a certain sardonic edge. It can be fairly wry at times. I dig it.

Apparently Amethyst's taken up the mantle of the overeater in this ep. But yeah, it's more used as a goof, not a criticism of anyone really.

They spent the early eps on character and world-building, then sort of start easing into mythology. The world itself is great… Beach City feels like it could balloon into A CN version of Springfield if given enough time.

Considering his age is apparently partially an illusion fueled by his state of mind (Too Many Birthdays), I half expected him to morph momentarily into a teenager. Great scene bringing pyschological reality into a fantasy world.

If you're giving the Wii U as a family gift, I would suggest surreptitiously hooking it up for a few hours before the big holiday reveal to jigger your settings and install all the system updates. Nothing puts the brakes on unboxing excitement like several hours of downloading required bug fixes and OS updates. (A

I, too, enjoyed this episode quite a lot. The layers-within-layers thing didn't really hold together under scrutiny but it still felt clever. And I think the ending should have raised the review half a letter grade at least…

"And now, ladies and gentleman, Captain of the Football Team and El Capitan of the Futball Team…"

"I was told there would be punch and pie."

I kind of like it. I think it's an animation style choice. Sort of like how everyone is beautiful and muscled in Spider Man comics.

How did Archers extended thwarted spit take in front of a $40 million blank canvas not make the stray observations?!? I can't remember the last time I laughter that hard.

I call it "The Fartsparkles Effect!"

Agreed! The show's getting better and better at melding the magical elements with the stuff about being a typical preadolescent boy. The way Steven kept referring to his "guys." "You know, like, guys??" was pitch perfect. I also really enjoyed the little "yeah, we're doing what we do" moment between Amethyst and
