I really thought when Dexter was giving Angel the "some doors should stay closed" speech, Angel would be like, "Uh, that's great Dex, but I need the evidence so I can go arrest the guy who beat up my girlfriend." Like Dexter was cautioning him against something that would never occur to him. Angel has always been

It was round abotu here…
… during Dexter and Miguel's game of cat and also-cat that I thought this season began to get a little momentum going.

I agree, the freak out was a cop out. One of the things I liked about "Dexter" is it doesn't pull that shit. When he hits Paul with the frying pan in S1 was one of those moments. It wasn't until he was carrying him out of the kitchen that I realized it _wasn't_ a dream. And the look on Dexter's face after he does

Yeah, I always liked Deb. S3 was a tough slog for her though; the writing really didn't serve her well. But I was pretty impressed with her in the next seasons and even in S5. But I guess we'll burn those bridges when we get to them.

Yeah, this was not a great season for Deb.

To me he'll always be the older brother in "Drowning Mona".

I always liked Angel. Maybe it's because he's the only character on the show that comes across as a genuinely decent guy. I can't say I was wild about his S3 plot, but I thought it was nice he had something to do.

Three years later… I get around to watching this show.

"You owe me a new Michelin, motherfucker," was the best line of the season, but "Are you trying to fuck her or set her on fire," and "Pardon my tits," were both strong contenders.

Here in the future of 2011, my mom still has an answering machine.

This might be my favorite line of the series. It's certainly the best line anyone other than Dexter gets.

You were off, but what's more interesting is the part you got right. You called it better than I did.

For me, the Quinn subplot was really bad times for Debra. Basically, she'd take whatever anyone said to her and then go and accuse the next person she talked to. Yumi says Quinn got a cop killed, Deb calls him a cop-killer. Quinn says Yumi is a rejected lover, Deb calls her out on it. She never tried to figure

I liked the IA detective (he said, three years and change later). She was kind of bitchy and annoying, but that approach would work on me.

So I'm not the only one poking around in the Dexter tv club, all these years later. I just caught up on the series because my cable went out and they gave me three months of Showtime for free. I'd watched S1 of Dexter a couple of years ago, and I went through 2-5 this past week. So that's my excuse.

Miller's Crossing was coming on cable a lot when I was a kid, and I'd watch it even though a lot of the plot was lost on me. The performances kept me coming back, and I was a big Hammett fan. Then after the sixth time I saw it, I realized how well everything fit together in the story, like clockwork.

"something you'd summon a genie with."

I caught part of an episode with Bob Balaban and hell, I'll watch anything with Bob Balaban in it. Also, I had a huge crush on Lisa Kudrow and it's never really gone away. Plus, I liked that she was trying not to crack up at Bob Balaban's lines. I'm also starting to realize how much fun it is to say "Bob Balaban"

I really wanted to post something to sum up my feelings on this show and these reviews…
but all I can come up with is…

There will always be a place in my heart for Mr. Manfrestenchenson.
