Why? Just because it looks ridiculous and they stretched out three movies from a children's book? I don't see how it possibly could!

Agreed! Although, once I work through the backlog of books I got right now, I might give Closing Time a go. It would be interesting to see how Yossarian deals with old age and the inescapable prospect of death.

Ah yes, possibly! Either that or I was watching some crappy 80's movie in which he played a smarmy asshole. Which he was great at, by the way. It sucks that one F-bomb mistake kind of sinked his career.

I just re-read Catch-22. Still one of the funniest and heartbreaking books about war and authority ever written. I haven't read anything else by Heller, but I am thinking about picking up the sequel of sorts, Closing Time. Anyone ever read it?

Holy crap! I had no idea about this. I was just thinking the other day, "What ever happened to Charles Rocket?"

Yes! His Albert Brooks is amazing! And as he says in the deleted scene, he is faster and wittier as Brooks than he ever is as himself, which is a pretty interesting look into the mind of an impressionist.

I agree with IQ84, but I also chalk it up to the fact that it was released in Japan as three short novellas, but in the West ( or, at least in America) as one gigantic novel. I wonder if it was read as intended, the story would still feel as bloated. Anyway, I got through it, but it was rough going for a while there.

Jarvis Cocker already wrote the perfect Occupy Wall Street song-about five years before Occupy Wall Street, though. http://www.youtube.com/watc…

I actually like Imagine quite a bit. Having said that, I checked out some of Frank Turner's songs on Youtube with the sole purpose to see what he has written that is so great and it turns out I have loved every song so far. Damn you, Turner!

In the UK, there was a single released that was actually of Liam and Noel fighting in the studio. I think went pretty high up on the charts. This was at the height of their fame back in the 90s.
