OK, but where's the lecture? Maybe when Don is at Joan's apartment - but the entire episode basically undercuts his ability to be the moralizer given how he treats Peggy at the office and his wife at home.

There is a thank you to Heidi Julavits, one of the Editors of the Believer (who also has an amazing new novel coming out this week called The Vanishers). So I think she is the "anonymous" editor referred to in the early stages of the book.
That's a great point. I didn't think of Fingal being that devious but on the other hand a big through line of his fact checking is that the reason the article has to be accurate is because it's about an extremely touchy subject.
I read it a few weeks ago and loved it. I've got some background in journalism but left print media a while ago. It's definitely worth reading if you are interested in how "nonfiction" or "journalism" gets reported, especially in long-form.
SPOILERS
I really like this season because it opens up Neptune beyond Neptune High and that class drama, but there's a lot of it that was clearly made up on the fly. Jackie's ultimate fate, for example, makes very little sense if you rewatch the early part of the season.
Nothing about the attempted school shooting? It's an incredibly tense scene, really well done I think (and anything that allows Wallace to be a hero is a plus in my book).
Agree. Except when they extended it in Season 5 it was weird. Thomas Newman is brilliant. I also love that the visuals and the score were developed together - they didn't make him write it to what they shot.
I believe Darla physically touches Connor at one point, which was put in to demonstrate that Darla wasn't the First. I might be misremembering that, though.
The only good thing about that stupid Rico plot is when Vanessa and Angelica get into a catfight with the stripper with lupus. "He doesn't want you, gordita!" always make me laugh hysterically.
