I didn't like this episode compared to last week. The coven stuff was pushed so hard that I wish some would have been parsed out better in prior weeks. How big is this coven anyway? So, Jo doesn't keep in touch with the twins she saved? A little odd, but when you have a father you know would kill you, I guess you keep

I thought Murray said Marvin was Bev's brother as well. Maybe he's trying to pass him off as not being biologically related to him?

Excellent review, Carrie. You nailed the issue with this episode. It was confusing.

I thought of that SATC storyline as well.

That's interesting what you think about Carol. I'm not sure why she saved Noah's life. She's been nothing if not increasingly brutal and ruthless since Sophia died. Why was Noah the exception? She tried to keep some distance with the children and instead instilled in them a "you are never allowed to be weak" mantra

Good points and I see what you're saying. I don't think he's necessarily consciously playing dumb, but I think he was purposefully not looking into his feelings and not wanting to deal with the change Caroline was making in their relationship.

That would turn me off and it's not what I want at all. I don't think anyone who posted on this recap feels that way, at least no one has said it here. I shouldn't speak for anyone else. It's not about taking over for me. It's not about one show over another another for me. I want anyone who wants to talk about

I didn't want to keep going back to that Reign thread where it obviously has not cooled off.

I think the best aspect of the AVClub is the commenting community, so I think any way everyone is encouraged to participate is good. Kicking people out doesn't foster the sense of community I think this site does a good job to promote and which makes it different than most other sites. Sorry you got dragged into this.

Commenters on TVD never wanted it only to be about TVD, but a shared space and it is quite common on this website. Check out last night's Constantine review with a Grimm thread if you want an example. It's not about someone else starting a blog. I comment on both shows and want both shows to do well.

Caroline is nothing if not dramatic. The timing is weird, but she really wasn't given an opportunity to say anything more. I think we were supposed to see hints of this unrequited romance (I saw it only as friendship) back when she was weirdly jealous at the thought of Elena and Stefan getting back together in the

I think you're absolutely right. I'd prefer it ends at friendship, but they have to at least get back to that. I thought her speech this episode was so elegantly done.

Psychic! He actually was a vampire for a hot minute.

I guess I'm not sure if he actually is or if he's on the verge of becoming one.

Wouldn't it have been great if the bear fell from the sky and conked Damon on the head?

Excellent timing. If you hover over the first comment you can hit the collapse button on this whole thread. Everything else is Reign.

I thought he looked good. I like the longer hair.

I figured Enzo did it during the 2 hour window he had with Tripp. If Liz hadn't been kidnapped that would have been a big surprise for him to get back home. Not sure about the human blood though. It obviously wasn't Matt.

Interesting. Do you think if Caroline didn't start to have feelings for him she would have dealt with his jerky behavior in a different way? If so, then she's the one that started the dissolution of their relationship by wanting it to change and definitely feels some guilt over that. I agree that she acknowledges how

Yeah, Damon really needs to work on a plan to get Bonnie back. He said he's going to leave Elena alone, so let's see if he can go one episode without bothering her.
