It's just a perfect response, isn't it? It's straight out of a sitcom, only it's a thing that someone said spontaneously in real life. (Well, "real" life.)

That was what I loved most about Spotlight in the end - that it was a compelling story told in a very simple and straightforward way. I can absolutely appreciate how that would alienate and/or bore some people, but it really worked for me.
Same. And every time Jason sneeringly referred to her as "Blondie", I wanted her to outlast him that little bit more.
She doesn't have a shitty apartment!
When the band started playing it at my friend's wedding last summer, the crowd booed until they stopped.
Of course not. I'm just saying maybe don't treat the few female characters you have as actual trash.
Why, what was in any way shortsighted about taking a sitcom that had been pulling in healthy ratings in its previous timeslot as part of a comedy block, moving it to a timeslot with an incompatible lead-in and where the network had been struggling for years to get any viewers at all, and directly opposite a competing…
"Here's a gorgeous woman to explain it. She's got maybe a minute's worth of dialogue and you'll never see her again, and she's still one of the top three most important female characters in this movie."
Weirdly my VHS comedy of the film came with a copy of the book included (was this maybe a thing that happened a lot in the nineties? I don't really remember) and I was quite surprised by how unflinching the book is, especially since it's a children's book. They really soften up Sally Field's character for the film too…
Frank was the guy from episode seven of Banana.
I can't wait to eat that monkey!
Spooky Endings should've been in this top five for the double-Penn joke alone.
Fiscal year of Penny! Suck it, taxpayers!
That was kind of my response to this show too. I thought it was completely silly, but I was at least pleased that it got made in the first place. Which is kind of sad when you think about it.
I wonder if it has anything to do with Tom Rob Smith's boyfriend no longer being the head of BBC drama.
Nick Miller is also a BBC weather forecaster, fact fans.
Also one of the things I quite liked about Playing It Straight was the dilemma the woman occasionally faced, where there's a guy who you're pretty sure is straight, but you CANNOT STAND HIM. Do you keep him around to increase your chances of winning, since you don't actually have to date the guy once the show is over,…
(Again, SPOILERS for a really old reality show, you can't be too careful)
It probably didn't help that one of the season one runners-up was arrested on child pornography charges.
(SPOILERS for a two-year-old reality show you're probably never going to watch, I guess?)
