"Help! Heeeeeelllllpp!"
I still can't believe it was the 1989 Denver Broncos!
I'm not sure that proves anything other than they record that episode's confessional before they leave.
I'd forgotten how much Ben annoyed me until she turned up to hand over the Miss Congeniality crown. Joslyn Fox was robbed.
If you haven't seen Mimi's turn at the roast of Michelle Visage yet, that's worth a look. Some of her stuff is a bit beyond the pale (it's still Mimi, after all), but some of it really made me howl with laughter.
Is that official? I've heard a few people say that the confessionals are done all at once at the end, but never from anyone actually involved in the show and it just seems like such an odd way of doing it to me.
I dunno, all that stuff about how attractive she found Santino was pretty hilarious to me.
I think that's a very interesting point, and I'm intrigued as to what role the edit played in it. I'm not saying that Ginger didn't say all of that catty shit, but I presume she wasn't *always* like that in every single confessional, and even then there's enough evidence in reality TV history to suggest that you can…
I thought the last episode of Cucumber was an absolute mess. I'm not sure how true this is, but I heard that there was some restructuring of the series fairly late in the day, and that everything that happened in episode seven was meant to be the finale. That makes a degree of sense to me - a lot of that episode felt…
If you look at the top of the page, you can see that the Cucumber finale got an A-. The B was for Banana (appropriately enough).
It wasn't that I thought Banana was attempting to say that Aiden was better than Frank, just that the episode seemed to be using the careworker stuff as a shorthand to get us not to dismiss him from the outset as just another vain blowhard, but as a deeper and more rounded figure. It just felt to me that by turning…
Also this episode of Cucumber was really rough going for anyone whose three least favourite characters are Freddie, Henry and Dean (ie me).
The part of Banana that really didn't work for me: Frank telling Aiden that he's a good person because he's a care worker is apparently sly and manipulative, but Banana telling us that Aiden is a good person because he's a care worker is fine?
Oh, I'm fully aware of what the joke was, thanks. It was just so shitty I didn't want to repeat it.
Was it the scene where the only black people in the entire film come to pick up the gun? I saw this movie so long ago but I vividly remember my eyes rolling out of my head and landing in my nachos when that happened.
If I remember correctly, the ratings actually went up during the series here in the UK. Admittedly it was shown on BBC3 over here so it had a much lower bar to clear, but I wonder what it was about the show that worked for British viewers but not for America.
Bravo.
I don't necessarily need the queens to be nice, I would just like them to be less actively rancid than Ginger. I don't think that's asking too much.
I did actually tweet the Drag Race account using the hashtag #anyonebutginger. And I mean anyone. Even a write-in campaign for Sasha Belle.
I'm pretty sure they were all shown. Kennedy was definitely shown out of drag, so it wasn't just Pearl.
