Although whoever was editing the camera shots seemed to be on Probst's side, as that seemed to be the only reason for all the times they cut to show Laura randomly snarling.

I've been watching some of the earlier seasons in the space between new ones so I went back and read some of her recaps, and that left me thinking that it's a bit rich of Linda Holmes to call Survivor out for misogyny considering the amount of time she spent complaining that stupid annoying girls were ruining things…

They've invented some great words this season. I liked Vytas's use of "shystiness" last week.

No, someone who didn't deserve it!

I also loved Tyson's comment after they returned from Redemption Island. I don't remember his exact words but it was something to the effect of how taking the game too seriously makes you bitter and angry and an unpleasant person, "and a good example of that is Colton".

If I remember rightly, the UK version aired four nights a week. This was not a great idea.

I like to think he listened to the podcast, heard your impression and thought "that's funny, I don't remember recording that."

Vytas has really impressed me so far. He really seems to have a very solid idea of what's going on and how to play the game. I know it's still early days, but I can see him lasting the course.

The preying mantis doing a sassy head-bob was my favourite.

Yeah, I feel like nothing reality (or reality TV at least) can offer us for the rest of the season could ever live up to that.

So much good stuff in Pearl Islands, but for my money you can't beat the arrival of Thunder D and The Great Granny Fairplay Fabrication, especially with Sandra being the only contestant not to fall for it and getting chewed out by Lil for her apparent disrespect as a result.

Aras interrupting Colton to announce to the whole tribe that he is definitely not falling for any of Colton's shit reminded me why I liked him on Panama. Well, that and the amount of time he spent with his shirt off.

I didn't really notice it until I saw the recap of last week's episode, but I like how Rupert's epic hero moment of stepping forward to save his wife involved barging Monica and Laura M out of the way. What a gent.

I'm now trying to plan out an entire Survivors: Gays Vs Their Heterosexual Equivalents season. Except I've only seen about five seasons and the only gay contestants I can think of off the top of my head are Richard Hatch and Scout, but I bet in about three weeks I'll have something HILARIOUS to say about this.

I don't want to sound too embarrassingly fangirl about all of this, but I enjoyed the first one so much that I actually did a little squeal of delight when I saw that episode two was available.

Can I change mine to Aras, Katie, Tyson and Vytas please? I've scanned the lists and I don't think anyone has that particular foursome, but I'm starting to go a bit googly-eyed at this point…

Oh, and also that time Terry had a hissy fit in the middle of a challenge when he thought Aras was breaking the rules, and Aras sang "SOMEBODY CALL THE WAAMBULANCE! TERRY'S CRYING ON THE COURSE!"

I watched Panama quite recently, and my main reason for enjoying Aras's game was that his shorts slipped down quite often in water-based challenges.

I spent far more of this episode than I would have liked trying to read Brad's tattoos. At one point I thought they said "Homer" and "Fudge".

Edit:: Sorry - scratch that, never mind.
