I have to admit, I love the low-rent casino in the end of VV. It almost makes up for the entire franchise.

And shopping.

I've never understood the love for Spaceballs, yet many of my generation apparently recall it fondly. It always seemed to me to be the kind of movie a kid who just discovered 'Weird' Al would write. It's a Wacky Packages kind of movie.

"Nice job…obstacle course…pretty good…"

"Nice job…obstacle course…pretty good…"

My favorite line from Heavyweights: "Congratulations Mr. Sims! You're the fattest boy in camp!"

FUN FACT: Seth Gordon and 21 Jump Street's co-driector Chris Miller went to the same high school.

That "apology" reminds me of Michael Scott's "I DECLARE BANKRUPTCY!"

This is perhaps too much information, but I was pretty stoked to watch this when it came out, being the red-blooded American male that I am. About halfway through, I gave up on having a Skinemax experience with it because it was so sweet and charming.

Was that around the same time as Pirate TV? I really enjoyed that one.

I loved The Maxx and looked forward to the weekends when there would inevitably be an Oddities marathon. The emotion is real and I remember crying at the finale and probably a couple episodes prior.

I'm sorry you lost your friend. Your affection for him and his wife is right there on the page. It would've been a lovely project.

What a great and sincere tribute to a friend. I've made a couple of tentative friendships with people I've interviewed (in a past life), but nothing like this. Kudos.

Sad to say the DBTs seem to be phoning it in lately. I've only seen their current lineup once, but it was pretty workmanlike. The tours I saw with Isbell were always transcendent.

I don't mind "Wonderful Christmastime." I fondly remember a family christmas gathering shortly after my folks got VH1 and the video would come up every couple of hours.

I honestly wish it was The Cramps' "Human Fly," but I suppose that's a little on-the-nose.

"They froze his brains out!"

Neil Young: History's Greatest Hipster.

All due respect to Mr. Young, but he's wrong about streaming quality. I listened to Rust Never Sleeps on Spotify (while I still can) through my mid-range Bluetooth earbuds and heard some stuff in the mix I've never heard before.
