Wilmore and other correspondents write their own stuff generally but they're not part of the writing staff. I think only Stewart and John Oliver are the only on-air talent that are part of the official writing staff, i.e. the people who get Emmys.

I apologize for Hackensack (the city of my birth). If you had been a couple towns over in either direction, you have been fine though. Any area with a lot of trees, even in NYC, the smell just disappears.
