Heh. My geek lured me into seeing Battlefield: Earth by saying it had alien penii. Turns out, he got it confused with Babylon 5.

I think just about every Jim Carrey movie, back then, was advertised as, "Hey! It's the guy from Ace Ventura and The Mask! Sit back and get ready for the hijinx!"

What do we know about Guest's personality?

I'd think you'd also have to chop off Lynch's calves - she looks like she has half a foot (or more) on Clinton.

He'll always first be the guy from Early Edition Homefront to me.

The first example that came to mind: An Awfully Big Adventure. It was marketed as a twee British comedy. I was expecting a theatrical farce. By the end, the only reason I didn't burn the video tape was because it was from Blockbuster.

I'm by no means a horror fiend, but I think the pacing was off for a horror film. And I suspect that learning that the ghosts were harbingers & warnings of the perverse yet human evil, rather than the source disappointed people looking for malevolent ghosts wreaking havoc.

She's one of my favourite parts of Cry-Baby. Thanks and RIP, Ms. McGuire.

Holy bovine. Glad you're alright!

Two possible explanations:

I had the #3 conversation with my geek (he brought it up). I mean, I really like Bryan Fuller and Angela Bassett and I grew up on the various Star Trek … but paying to watch it on TV? I dunno, I want to see some reviews first.

*hug* I'm sorry you're going through such crap.

Oh, what's the place? Portage Bay Cafe also has crab cake Benedict, but with an Asian gloss (ginger & 5-spice seasons).

There was a BBQ place in the Central District that just closed - I tried it on its last day, and it was pretty good. Places like Bourbon & Bones, Jack's BBQ — they do some good stuff and they have some good sauces, but I have yet to find brisket that I love or even ribs that compare to what I used to get in

You mean the part that is totally going to get upzoned and redeveloped when the Link line finally gets beyond Husky Stadium?

You mean, like, In Search Of? Because I loved that show, even when it completely freaked me out as a kid.

I remember Special Bulletin - I thought it was awesomesauce, but then again, I was 13. I do remember there was hype about people tuning in and panicking, despite in before, during and after-warnings about the show being fictional. Don't remember if the hype was debunked or verified, though.

I have several seasons of the Mercury Theatre, thanks to a CD I picked up. Other than Dracula and War of the Worlds, I think my favourite is their version of Rebecca.

Accident?

34 was fun. So was 35, until I started law school.
