Last Surgeon Standing?
I am sorry you were attacked for getting personal. I hope you do follow the advice of several commenters to feel free to share during the weekly TI thread. It is a space where we discuss ourselves, triumphs and tribulations.
Charles Rocket actually make a nice dent doing sleazoid yuppie-ish characters … that he was on SNL at some point genuinely shocked me first time I heard it.
What is the full Zappa?
I've been told repeatedly that it's not true, and I heard it long after I watched it, so it has little to no bearing on my other issues.
Something I haven't seen mentioned, but I don't think I'm completely alone: The Wizard of Oz film. I tried watching it when I was around 7 or 8. I sat through it, but it gave me nightmares for quite a while, and while I can recognize its greatness as a film, I still have no desire to watch it ever again.
So, from the Twilight Zone:
In Search Of used to regularly freak me out as a kid. One of its eps was the first time I'd seen "still person with wide-open eyes = dead" thing and my little mind couldn't handle it for several days … it seemed like the most unnatural thing at the time.
No, I like The Unnatural. If only because I literally CAN'T WATCH the other X-Files before Mulder ep - just the print ads drove me away.
I'd say you should, but honestly … it will permanently change how you think about Johnny Mathis, even if it was a soundalike singing "Wonderful, Wonderful" in the ep.
"Cerulean blue is like a summer breeze …"
I've done it (because I am bizarrely clumsy). Stings like the dickens for more than a day. Luckily, it wasn't deep.
Trollers be trollin', grifters be griftin' …
Why would you put blackface on your … no, let's not go there, after all.
I may need to watch tonight's SVU. Here's hoping I don't get pulled back in …
Don't talk about my high-school husband that way! (even if he does look especially dorky in that picture)
Is there a nude scene? I mean, I'm already in, because Duncan Jones, but if there's a nude scene … well, one can hope for 3-D.
I've not read Mansfield Park. It is a deliberate choice that I have yet to justify to myself, beyond "It doesn't look fun to me".
Dress-up: Friday, for work, I wore my "Union of Mad Scientists" lab coat and a pair of goggles to be a Mad Information Scientist (because I'm a librarian, yo).
