You know, I can't find anyone in my immediate circle who enjoys -or even remembers- 'Look Around You', even though it was only a couple years ago. Christ, that shit was funny.
Let's throw in Jandek, Jad Fair and Eugene Chadbourne while we're at it.
I forget if we've already taken on "Skidoo" around here
If not, we should. That movie's nuts. Although there is a kind of logic to casting Groucho Marx as God.
Joe Flaherty has never been funnier. It seems at times that his character was written to be as much like Lou Sedaris as possible.
What, Alvin Cementwell?
Also, the movie was fucking excellent. Warner Bros. psychedelia.
It's also great that it happens to be named "Pit," with its inevitable connotations of being trapped.
I can't help but hear the title of Lame Sauce's post in the same exact voice as used in the segment on The Soup, with squealing metal guitars and pictures of fire, then the logo (in steel, with rivets!); GAY SHOWS!
So the language issues in the Mohd's posts there were actually translation software issues? I'd like to think so, anyway.
A pie fight -yes, a pie fight.
The Firesign Theater even did a version of that oneā¦
No one is innocent.
Yes he was, you boys.
I've been waiting to see a discussion of this show happen somewhere other than the Merc's blog. You know; where we could maybe discuss the show on its merits (and demerits) rather than just have the whole 'LOL U JUST DON'T LIKE IT CUZ UR A HIPSTER FAAAAGGGG!!!!!' conversation over and over again.
You really should've just left that as "I basically retarded."
I've been here since 1986. So, I've seen it be a lot of things.
Well, this is annoying
So please to enjoy the silly discussions people who live in Portland are having about the damn thing:
Talking in movies is ok if the dialogue isn't annoying.
One of the many things in "The People's Almanac" that I enjoyed was an entry about how what plans the vanquished powers had in the various wars they lost, had they won the war.
