Yeah Christ, there's a lot of demonstrably untrue statements in this thread. Pregnancy fat tends to be an all-over thing, as is the case with fat in general, and wouldn't it be hilarious if being fat actually somehow gave you more nerve endings?

Early silent film star Rod LaRocque would like a word with you.

…said the guy who was recently defending Bread.

Good call on Beat Happening (and hell, all the K Records bands, really). I am more apt to view Belle and Sebastian as part of a long tradition of depressed Brit-pop, where the sunny melodies overlie a noticeable lack of enthusiasm about the world.

And 'Smile' is crap, for the most part.

Seconding Mythogoras. I immediately tripped on that one too. I'd even take it a step further: it's about teenage-hood as metaphor for how everyone is at their emotional core. People don't really grow up, insofar as certain things like love go.

Oh yeah: you know what one of my favorite albums is? The one under discussion. You know what one of my other favorite albums is? Black Sabbath's "Heaven and Hell," where Ronnie James Dio made his debut with them.

I first heard it walking into a record store in Portland. I actually asked, "Which Donovan record is this?"
But that's just it: it's great pop. It's not to be shit on for that reason, but again I understand that you don't necessarily need to like pop.

"You're worth the trouble and you're worth the pain
you're worth the worry -I would do the same
if we all went back to another time
I would love you over
I would love you over
I would love you…"

We're the C Roster! Team Adequate! Phonin' it in while sleeping our way to the middle!

Hi, I'm back. Yes, that was a response to Drunk Baby.

Man, that's one of the best reasons I've ever heard for me to give up liking Neko Case. Thank you.

Yes, I was kind of waiting for someone to mention Don Felder here. Not sure why, though.

In 'Musician' magazine, I once saw this miracle described as a byproduct of "Henley's inability to play chordal instruments."

Obligatory re-mention of the story of Glenn Danzig in a cafe admonishing the waitress, "This is not the chicken salad sandwich that Glenn Danzig ordered…" Repeated wondering if said story is apochryphal.

Curiously, there was a place in the process for "underpants" as well…

A fortnight? For an Eightdollar? 'Sballs!

I always thought it was weird that the explanation of the role of suction cups in that scene claimed that suction cups "suck water," where I think it's pretty well establish that suction cups suck air.

I'm not sure if "Tall Tale" qualifies, but I think it might be worthy of inclusion.
Haven't heard of it, eh? Well,
http://www.imdb.com/title/t…
there y' go.

I saw it in the theater when it came out. Loved it. And also don't remember a damn thing about the plot, as opposed to the visuals.
