I rate it in first-place or near it regardless of oeuvre.

Irrational Man: I already really liked this, and my appreciation for it has only grown with this viewing. I don't think even I realized how quietly extraordinary Darius Khondji's cinematography is here, initially mocking Abe Lucas's solemnity for the benefit of the audience (gotta love the rule of three-adhering…
I rewatched it about a year ago and was even more confounded by how thoroughly it was rejected. I mean, I get that mainstream audiences wouldn't gravitate towards it, but I don't understand why it at least didn't get the respectful reception Soderbergh's other experiments got. Was it just the digital?
Nicky Katt was in Soderbergh's Behind the Candelabra, rocking a wonderful 70s stache and stealing all his scenes.
Her monologue about aging is probably the one thing I'd salvage from that movie.
Right.
Fuck, I would've liked to know that at least three and a half years ago.
The Narrator Continues His Soderbergh Escapade
Yeah, Ferrell and John Cusack are second-place for me, they're both good.
The same year as Iron Mask, he was hilarious in Celebrity, although that movie is spotty at best.
Yeah, I think the best Allen surrogates combine Woody's mannerisms with their own established style or distinguishing feature. That's why Wilson, Seth Green, Rebecca Hall, and Eisenberg are my favorite Allen surrogates and why Kenneth Branagh is my absolute least favorite.
Aww man, The Girlfriend Experience got completely shut out.
Bloom was also nominated for "Settle For Me".
Soderbergh's nominated for Best Direction again, so that's good, even if he'll inevitably lose to [internet favorite show I don't watch and may very well never watch].
Numbnut and chucklefuck are tied for my favorite insult.
Yeah, I do not remember Moretz being anything like Cage (both the actual and meme versions of him) in Sils Maria.
…I need to see this.
You thought Moretz did better than Stewart in Sils Maria? Honestly, I thought Stewart may have even outperformed Juliette Binoche there. And I thought she held her own against Julianne Moore in Still Alice too.
