Get Sicario and Green Room into my veins as quickly as possible. Shame about Our Brand is Crisis, although it's not like the trailer didn't warn me about the finished project.

No.

I haven't even seen Blue Ruin yet, and that's already a must-see for me.

I'm beginning to think that this, not any of the Inherent Vice gifs, should win the Best Gif Featuring Joaquin Phoenix In A Lead Role award.

That's one of the cheapest conceits in all of Cards Against Humanity.

I bet he brought him along only so he could have a witness when he proposed to you oh shit, that was supposed to be a surprise.

Actually, in a more conclusive statement…

Dowd is in Toronto.

And on the Coens' next film, Hail Caesar.

I used to be totally against Blade Runner 2, and I still am, except I'm now uncontrollably excited for it because of Deakins.

Yeah, he has a killer track record of hiring great DoPs, with Deakins, Conrad Hall, Ellen Kuras, and now Hoytema.

That's gonna be off the fuckin' chain in regards to cinematography. The trailers gave off some serious Gordon Willisy vibes that I like.

I love Pfister's work with Nolan, yes, but my desire for Hoytema goodness outweighs my desire to see Pfister put Transcendence behind him.

Ha, those two movies you find to be his "lesser" works are probably my two favorites. And I totally agree on everything else.

Leaving the note saying "GONE TO CHINA"? That knocked me out when I saw it again after seeing the movie, knowing Dodd's choice of song late in the movie.

Also, if he ends up directing it, where do you think Pinocchio will end up ranking?

At this point, I want to meet someone whose PTA is Hard Eight, because I've yet to see anybody (myself included) rank it anywhere besides last. It's a really solid little movie (and Philip Baker Hall is the fucking man in it), even if it's not nearly up the (absurdly) high standards he set afterwards.

Interesting that you like Back Beyond more than The Master. Back Beyond has one really great line that I wish had made it into the movie proper; "I can smell your pussy from under your panties, and it is driving me crazy."
