On the subject of NBC comedies, I deleted Parks & Rec from my DVR timers today. I don't mean to look down on people who think the show is still good but it just doesn't do anything for me anymore.

As much flak that that show got in its later seasons the first season is still really, really good.

I think coming after season 5 this episode wouldn't seem so cheesy, but season 7 was surprisingly strong compared to the two before it, making this season so far look weak in comparison.

I don't know how they managed to make such a naturally-paced show in 21 minutes back in season 2 (maybe because there were usually only 2 stories per episode?) but I miss that a lot. It also felt a lot more like real people who happen to say and do funny things than sitcom characters written to be funny.
