We were on vacation. We arrived in South Carolina Sunday night, where we were visiting Osiris’s uncle and aunt. On Monday, we swam in the lake, on Tuesday, we took a boat ride and later went into town to see “Pete’s Dragon.” That is a good movie. I felt like Pete knew more words than he should have, but they did set

Clocks were invented to warn us. Tick (time is passing). Tock (time has passed). - Kamand Kojouri

I am not very knowledgeable about opera, but "“They are under the illusion that singing forcefully effects great results." might work.

Our civilization is still in a middle stage, scarcely beast, in that it is no longer wholly guided by instinct; scarcely human, in that it is not yet wholly guided by reason. - Theodore Dreiser (August 27, 1871 – December 28, 1945)

I would read the book "Koko and Her Friend Flea."

Osiris and I, and our dog, The Grrrrl, have reached our destination. Also, I've worked out Puzzlemaster Will Shortz's puzzle.

If she is Asian, it may be "Tuoy"; I recall a sushi waitress by that name.

If you'd have given her a saint's name in the middle, that would work. e.g. "Vengeance Joan Power"

Yeah. That's exactly what happened.
(The way this is drawn, I am expecting to see Curious George and the Man in the Yellow Hat.)

More Thin Lizzy. Phil Lynott (20 August 1949 – 4 January 1986)

That's kinda cool. I recall on the "Behind the Music" Phil's mother talked about the disapproval she faced, and about, when Phil was a beautiful little boy, people would say "Oh, he's so lovely, look at those curls. You ought to send him back to Africa, though."

I was born in 1963, so I knew Thin Lizzy's songs growing up, but didn't know anything about the band until later on. I think Phil is really handsome, and then I think, damn, he's got the same jawline as me, and his hands are like my son's, or my father's.

You see with your brain
And the more words your brain has
The more things you can see” - KRS-One (b. August 20, 1965)

War, I have always said, forces men to change their standards, regardless of whether their country has won or lost. - Salvatore Quasimodo (August 20, 1901 – June 14, 1968)

Why does everyone talk about the past? All that counts is tomorrow's game. - Roberto Clemente (August 18, 1934 – December 31, 1972)
