Did the ominous voiceover add anything? Did it defuse any of the criticism had it not been there? It just seemed superflous, or a sign of insecurity that this story couldn't stand muster without a layer of irony with the storyteller angle.

"Days" by the Kinks. Used very well in the movie Until the End of the World

"Your girlfriend was a fembot!"
I wholeheartedly agree. In the hospital scene where Peter visits Olivia, I was saying to myself, "Please don't let this end with 'Who are you?", or "The loss of my cotexiphan coctail erased my new memories - have we met?") I mean, there's a cliffhanger, but not one that makes us suckers for following these past…
That's kind of how I saw the end of the episode. If there was no new season, it ends with the smooching and multiple reveals between Peter and Olivia. Now that there is new life to the series, we get that little bit of add-on. The showrunners said there were alternate episodes depending on renewal, but I'm betting…
Marty Feldman could, but he's long since been deceased.
Yeah, I think I meant the opposite of what I just said. I should wait until I've been drinking to post. Everything else just comes out wrong.
2009, 2010, 2011 - it just seems interminably longer than that waiting for the network to pull the plug
The video looks like an attempt to give a Nick Drake song the Coldplay treatment, while walking the streets dressed up like zombie Adam Duritz.
I have a lot of patience for this show, but the sunbeam ripping a new one through Boston, with little or no plausible reaction by the city, stretched credibility beyond my limits tonight. I mean, that kind of plot is from the pinky-to-the-mouth and "$100 billion dollars" avenue of evil schemes.
I'm going to go with "I'm Mad", by Reverend Horton Heat. Not just a literal choice; it's a nice chunk of psychobilly.
The second side of In Utero was one of my choices. Damn near wore out the cassette blasting it in my car driving on the highway.
If that's true, then why all of the drama about whether Peter (technically Earth-2 Peter) would be swiped up from Walter? Maybe there's something supposed to be something about Peter that supersedes this dichotomy, but as of tonight, it seemed that there was a drama bait and switch. Lincoln's easy choice doesn't…
The episode sure appeared to give us a goodbye to Earth-2, which was lovingly portrayed, but a) why would Earth-1 Lincoln be swept over just because of where he stood in tthe room, while b) Peter didn't go over to his "home" on Earth-2?
Added to the list…
The choices are good, but I kind of figured Def Leppard's "Photograph" would be included.
@avclub-298673367c6de609ae5970ce1e699c50:disqus That's not what he did. Stop straining to find racism where there isn't. There's no point to that.
It would be disappointing if the show doesn't survive long enough to pick up on this storyline (which tonight's ep was obviously set up to do). But if ithis episode turns out to be a one-off that only fan-fiction devotees are able to take further, I guess I can appreciate it for what it was - a neat storyline that…
