Ugh, I remember being so excited for that film which turned out to be utter rubbish.
It's a common complaint, but Streep has only been in a few excellent films ("The Deer Hunter", maybe "Kramer vs. Kramer" though I also have a soft spot for "The River Wild").
"The Heres Have Eyes"
"Tie Me Here and Tie Me There"
"Zhang Yimou's Here"
You've seen "Read or Die", right? If not, do so immediately.
In middle school, I loved Crichton and (thought) I loved learning about science from his books. Years later when I heard he was a climate change denier, I realized most of his books are really anti-science and -scientists.

Racism and sexism are immoral, not stupid. Nor is it against the well-being of racists and sexists. Quite the contrary: it is an essential part of it.
It makes them racist and sexist. Not stupid.
It can be. I don't think it is.
Or him supporting the birther movement.
Stupidity didn't get Trump elected.
Though I'm fairly certain this is how he's always been. After all, he mails Graydon Carter pictures of his hands.
I sort of hope that people realize it just isn't worth it to work for Trump and he ends up alone in the White House, shouting at the TV.
Yeah, every now and then I sort of identify as conservative since I draw a lot of my politics from Oakeshott and Walzer* but as far as I can tell the Republican Party stands for white supremacy, willful ignorance, and assholes.
