I'm not sure Reagan's racism was less open, it's just opposition to the Civil Rights Act and support of apartheid used to be respectable positions and people have conveniently forgotten that.

Reagan's political career was tied to his opposition of the Civil Rights Act. I'm fairly confident saying he was a virulent bigot.

It must be pretty tough to appeal to ordinary decency, acceptance, and sheer Americanness and not be seen as anti-Trump.

I'm not surprised Trump and company are evil. That's what they ran on. I am surprised at how utterly incompetent they are. From today's failing New York Times:

I'm not sure I care what people were up to in high school, but it's sadly apt that Gorsuch was founder and president of his school's Fascism Forever club.

It would be nice if the fact a Milo fan shot a protestor in Washington got even more coverage. It hasn't, of course.

I'm honestly not sure if Trump is a billionaire. I suspect instead he largely lives off loans from foreign creditors. Both are reasons imo why he refuses to show his tax returns.

It's perhaps a little unfair to her, but not much. Her campaign website had for a year or so a page calling to unite Syria under government control, which they removed when attention was brought to it. Like her support for Brexit, I suspect it shows her cluelessness more than anything else.

I have a hard time not seeing the transcripts as something like Obama's birth certificate: a new requirement made to delegitimatize a candidate. Especially since Sanders refused to give his tax returns for much of the time he and his supporters demanded the transcripts.

Also, I have a hard time believing someone who claims Hillary was "a primary force in dragging the Democrats closer and closer to Reaganism in the '90s and beyond" knows much about Hillary or Reaganism.

Did you read the Vanity Fair article about Jared and Ivanka? The big lesson for me was that Jared observes Shabbat, and that seems to be when Bannon has complete access to Trump.

Gillibrand has voted against all of Trump's choices except Nikki Haley for the UN. No one else has.
