Wow, to each his own, but I'm a big fan of the series and this is by far my favorite MGS. It's the stealth game I've always wanted. It wasn't really narrative based, more emotionally based, and I found it effective. There wasn't really anywhere left to go with the previous method of storytelling. He tried something

Having gone months without having her, and having to work to get her back…I have to say, in execution, it feels great. I've never genuinely missed a video game character, but I missed Quiet. I felt like her and Snake had an unspoken bond, from the little nod she gives you before the helicopter touches down, to the way

Very true. Like you said, it's the variety of styles combined with the format. I think there HAS to be a way they could put more focus on the writing. Polishing it, I mean.

I thought it was a disappointingly toothless interview. If only it could have happened after the a Trump thing. I did like Michael's insight that, in being a variety show, they like to have a variety of comedic styles. Smart, esoteric stuff AND dumb, broad stuff, "though ideally with some kind of intelligence behind

except this time we know she's at least partially wrong. We've seen the bird that she dug up; that part was true.

Jesus Christ. I know I say it every week, but you can't tell me this isn't the best show on television right now.
I don't even have anything insightful or clever to say. Just in awe of this show right now.

That's very possible. This really felt like a later Connery Bond, like You Only Live Twice or Thunderball. Still serious, but a bit more fun, if meandering at times.

Hey, I have problems with the movie too. Not saying it's impossible to dislike. It just feels like every review I've read is using Skyfall as the ultimate barometer for quality.
There's just so much to like here, from my viewpoint. I'm surprised that people dislike it as much as they do. They act as if it's Die Another

This IS a fun one! It's much more lighthearted than he previous 3.

Well, I loved it. It's everything I love as a Bond fan. Certainly the most outright fun of the Craig films. It seems like a lot of critics just weren't in the mood for a Bond movie or something; or they're fans of Skyfall, but not the series.

Ohh, gotcha. I thought he was talking about Casino. Haven't seen Spectre yet.

Thunderball is just so incredibly boring. I'm not sure if you've watched it recently, but I was shocked. The action completely doesn't hold up, the under water stuff—which is 50% of the movie—is slow as hell, and that scene where the bad guy tries to kill him on some sex machine is embarrassing. The yellow-face bit in

Yes, it's a crazy fact. But if you were wondering how Roald Dhal felt about Asian people, well, there you go.

That literally never happened.

There is nothing worse than View to a Kill. Doesn't feel anything like a Bond movie; more like the slow adventures of a creepy old man. Skyfall *feels* like a Bond movie. I guess I can see why someone wouldn't like it, but worst and least-favorite are very different things.

Gourley's Ian Fleming is truly a gift from the gods.

That's totally fair. Honestly, outside of the very beginning and very end, it doesn't have very much to do with Casino. And it has one of the best villains, IMO.

I thought that until I watched the blu-Ray. Honestly I was shocked at what a difference it made. I used to find that car chase incomprehensible but now I have no problem following it.
Not sure what you're on about with opera scene.

You're simply wrong on that one. Casino Royale and Skyfall in particular have incredibly inventive credit sequences that are well regarded by critics and fans.

And to think we could have had Radiohead.
