I loved the ending (hated the song, though). If I'm reading it right, Matt saw the car crash as God proving himself to Matt. But since Matt kind of sold his beliefs a little (hit a dude with an oar, punched a groomsman), he felt he needed to free the man in the stocks the way God freed him, and also as a way to repent.

That final song has to be one of the worst pieces of shit I've ever heard. Really took me out of what was otherwise a fantastic episode.
I like how Lindelof has, as with Lost, presented a reality in which there may or may not be a god, but there is definitely karma. The reveal of the car crash was perfect.

I'm allowed to say cock without succumbing to memery.

Is the title a play on the old expression For The Love of Cock?

Great stuff, but he's always gotta whine about something doesn't he?

Jeffrey Donovan's face needs to chill.

Considering she left a bag of shit on her ex husband's doorstep last season, it felt pretty real.

The other thing that made me think this is that he starts to explain it to Jill, but then stops short and says it's hard to explain to people who don't believe in God.

Maybe. It's also very possible that Kevin knows from being a cop. Patti was already mentally unstable and quite probably went on a very public meltdown once she found out.

I just love how this show refuses to give any concrete clues as to Patti's realness. As soon as you think she's divulged a piece information that we know Kevin couldn't know on his own (her husband's shit fetish), she reminds us that his wife was her therapist, and could have told him about it. "The season so far hasn’t been full of knockout episodes"
Totally disagree; I think every episode has been fantastic so far. This is my favorite season in a long time. I've really struggled to get into the past couple years.

This wayyyyy better than the DS and 3DS Yoshi games. Which were OK at best.

Oh yeah, Yoshi's Story was universally panned upon release, and fans hate it. Perception of it has improved since it was released on the Wii Virtual Console and people like myself have played it devoid of context. It's a great chill-out platformer.

One of the best details that seems obvious now but I wasn't expecting, is that Yoshi's eggs are now little balls of yarn. And when you throw an "egg" at an enemy, it wrangles them up in the yarn instead of stunning them.

I had the same experience, which I've always felt icky about, considering I consider plstforming my favorite genre. It's a game I definitely appreciate but don't exactly enjoy. I always liked Yoshi Story (sacrilege, I know) because it captured what I liked about SMW2 but took out the baby, which I never enjoyed.

Oh yeah, they'll love it. I'm not sure it uses its aesthetic as cleverly as Epic Yarn, but it looks amazing.

Since it's made by the same studio it's not a ripoff, exactly. It's like they're continuing to develop this aesthetic, but via different characters and gameplay mechanics. It's great.

This game is so charming. Epic Yarn is one of my favorite platformers, and this is a worthy sequel. And definitely the best Yoshi game since SMW2. (Except better, because you don't have to hear the shrill sound of a baby crying every time you get hit by an enemy)

Right? Strong was really starting to find her voice after just a few months. Jost and Che have been stinking it up for two seasons now. Pete Davidson seems like the best choice considering stand-up is his whole thing.

Hmm. I actually thought the sketch writing has been pretty strong with this new cast—every sketch actually has a "game," or a point of view that they find a way to escalate. There's fewer formless, "let's find an excuse to do our impressions" sketches. I think Jost is completely unremarkable behind the Update desk,
