As someone who loves Survivor, but does not understand the intricacies of its strategy, can someone explain to me why, pre-merge, you wouldn't IMMEDIATELY get rid of the nutbag who tears down camp morale and is totally unpredictable in an alliance? There's one of these people every year, they always make it to merge,

Rupert will be the only castaway, and will somehow still lose.

I like Savage a lot, and it's not his fault his wife is hot, but the story was so superficial (I saw her and she was hot! That's basically it!) that it was kind of eye-rolling, especially since the music played it as if it was Gone With the Wind.

I'm not sure I've seen anything that leads me to believe she has any idea what she's doing. The drama worked out in her favor, but I really don't think it's intentional. Her craziness makes her a great pick to take to the end, so I think people will cater to her more than they otherwise would.

Once again the fate of a perfectly good player was eliminated due to the fragile ego and whims of an insane person.

The thing with Fishbach's comment is, you have to be able to read the vibe of the tribe (unintentional rhyme). Some tribes would have groaned at Andrew's story, but this one is tighter and more familial. I would say in *most* tribes Fishbach's comment wouldn't have made any impact at all, but the fact that this one is

My literary hero loves Law & Order.
Mixed feelings, today.

This looks gorgeous, well-acted, and like it will probably be a miserable chore to watch.
But I'll watch it anyway!

I was thinking the same thing. It doesn't matter how good the writing is. If the host is unlikable or inarticulate, the whole thing falls apart. SNL is the prime example of this right now, which is a shame considering Weekend Update is the part of the show that's (almost) always been great.

Considering that you could mute or fast forward through the 30-60 seconds of name shouting, this seems like an odd reason to avoid a show.

I thought the Whitney joke was solid. I'm feeling the exact opposite about this than I do with Weekend Update. I think the Weekend Update writing is still strong, but the hosts are so wildly unlikable and inarticulate that it can hardly shine through. Whereas I thought the writing here was pretty safe, but it was made

I seem to have the exact opposite gut-reaction to this guy. There's something about him that I just *like*. I find him charming, energetic, and very easy to listen to (probably the accent). I had no opinion of him prior to seeing the show, but although it was indeed very safe, I think he was entertaining. Hopefully he

This motherfucker ignored certain scientific facts for the sake of compelling drama? Nolan and Scott are fucking hacks!

He seemed to be referring to a ridiculous, inflammatory tirade on the Earwolf forums that described Scott as some evil antisemite.
Even if he wasn't, it was still hilarious. Especially Scott's actual frustration at it. "Oh, come on! Come on!"

Ah, for the days when a Marge/Homer marriage crisis in a dream within a dream was all we had to worry about.

Fast & Furious: The Legend of Curly's Gold

On the other hand, this means three more How Did This Get Made? episodes with Adam Scott.

Every time I've talked to a Russian person I've felt like I should apologize for wasting their time. That's the vibe I get.

"Now it's all I can think about."
