Pretty much this, except I think you're too down on MI: III. I've seen it a million times and never got the "soap" thing you're talking about.

ME TOO. I made it maybe one minute.
Cruise is still a BAMF.
Saw it this weekend in IMAX. It was disappointing. I thought the last two were among the best action movies of the past several years; this one had some great set-pieces, but the script was, even by Mission Impossible standards, pretty dumb. All the attempts at humor (outside of the opera sequence, which had some good…
I thought Anchorman 2 was just as funny as the first, honestly. And Anchorman is maybe my favorite comedy. I thought they did a good job at avoiding just recycling jokes from the first movie (save for the final "battle", which they escalated so ridiculously it made it worth it)
It's my favorite Batman movie. I think it was the perfect blend of goofy, comic-booky fun and brooding, Nolan-ness.
I like films like Citizen Kane…The Godfather…Part II.
Denis Leary is a friend to no one but himself.
It's a pretty atypical LCD Soundystem song, but All I Want is crucial.
That's the biggest omission, IMO. An absolutely essential song.
I've heard Radiohead, from a couple sources. This makes me…most pleased…
That's…not even a possible opinion. No one could think that.
He's the ultimate movie-star, IMO.
And why does nobody talk about Minority Report? Maybe his best movie.
I loved Ghost Broticol, but MI: 3 is still at the top for me. The opening scene is one of the best opening scenes to an action movie I've ever seen. Hoffman is just brilliant, and the whole Vatican sequence is pure joy.
"I'm starting to think that Ben is like one of those guys in every office who knows how to make his computer do what he needs it to do, but doesn't know why he's doing it. In his time on the island, with and without The Hostiles, I think Ben has learned how to manipulate the devices of Dharma and the island, but he…
Was just about to comment the same thing!
To be fair, he was brought here under false pretenses and he's been a real good sport.
Haley Huntley? Star of Hospital Bitch?
That's not entirely true. From the beginning they knew what the island was (the backgammon pieces are in the pilot, remember? And the official pitch document to ABC is on the internet for all to see), who the others were, that there was a dharma-like organization, what the monster was, why the polar bears were there,…
That's a great one. I love how often the show would have Locke just say "Hello, [insert first name here]" as an act-break. It happens SO MANY TIMES. "Hello, Hugo." "Hello, James." "Hello, Ben." "Hello, Richard." Psycho-strings. CUT TO COMMERCIAL.
Nobody says Hello like Locke.
Holloway especially…how is that dude not a HUGE star? He's hot, he's got range. As far as I can tell that's literally all it takes.
But then, Aaron Paul is also not a huge movie star, which makes no sense.
