It won't happen, of course, because Mad Men will (and should) sweep the nominees, but I really hope Bob Odenkirk gets some recognition for his work on Better Call Saul at some point. He had an insane amount of monologues and just nailed every single one. He actually made that scum bag sympathetic.
It was great to see

No Winter Sun

Is Jaime Bell…good? Everything I see him in he just irritates me. Might be his face, which has the highest punchability of any face I've seen in awhile. Especially in King Kong…god damn it did I hate him in that movie.

The only place where you HAVE to see Jamie Bell's face.

It's just a fun movie with a solid premise. Not his most substantial film by any means, but incredibly watchable.

" they tend to be well suited to my interests and presented in a way that speaks to my sensibilities."
That's a great way of describing why I love Nolan. I understand he has his flaws as a filmmaker, but he just makes exactly the sort of films I like to see.

Yeah, don't get me wrong I absolutely love Inception, Interstellar and all his Batman movies, but I hope he does a few smaller films here and there as well. That's the kind of thing that can help a director stay on the Spielberg level rather than the Jackson level.
I think he wants to, especially given that his

Dammit, you're right.
Fuck you, Andrew Garfield, and your Sunday Funniest last name, too!

Snyder mentions in just about every interview his love for Morrison and Miller, and I would say he pays homage to them rather than ripping them off. Maybe I'm just happy that Tony S. Daniel way the hell off of Batman/Detective.
I think it's fair to say I like Capullo more than Snyder, but I like Snyder portraying

He was a good Emma-Stone-Haver

I think if Shyamalan was given a good script he honestly could have been one of the great directors. The cinematography in Unbreakable and The Village is gorgeous—really well-directed, but mostly bad movies.

He also took a fat shit on Alice in Wonderland, turning a timelessly unique tale into Lord of the Rings Jr. Featuring Coked-Up Johnny Depp

They make very different kinds of movies. Odd to even compare the two other than that they're both popular.

Yeah that's a bizarre oversight.

It's probably been mentioned a million times but…Woody Allen not even a runner-up? Yo. Also Fincher, Soderbergh, Mel Brooks…there's some notable absences.
Also, am I alone in thinking The Prestige is arguably Nolan's best film? Beautifully shot, perfectly encapsulates his love of complex narrative structures, and is

Say what you will about the Amazing Spider-man movies, but they are approximately 5000 percent more tolerable than the bullshit the Amazing Spider-Man comics have been pulling. Peter Parker swapped consciousness with Doc Ock for a LONG time, and then switched back and had millions of dollars and a hot girlfriend.
What

The real problem is, you're just not going to get better casting than Willem Dafoe as Green Goblin (though Chris Cooper was an inspired bit of casting, I think) And I'm by no means a James Franco fan, but he nailed Harry Osborne. Perfect mixture of clueless rich kid and earnestness.

It's a pretty dumb idea. I like the idea of Peter obsessing over how to bring people back from the dead, maybe leading him to create (or finish his father's research on) what ends up becoming Venom by accident. That would actually be a cool parallel to all the Mad Scientist villains that Spidey fights—having Peter

Tintin fucking rocked. That final chase scene? Come on.

Well, answer him! Are do you?
