I’m a woman in a rural, red state who works in education. There’s pretty much no way anything good is going to come for me out of the current administration. Yeah it is so scary and completely out of nowhere to happen. My college roommate’s mom died of one during our senior year and it blindsided everyone. Her mom used to bring us food once a week so it just seemed completely impossible that she could just be gone like that.

A fellow student in my current Master’s degree program died unexpectedly from a brain aneurysm over the summer, and it still makes me sad when her profile pops up on facebook-connected sites like Airbnb. We worked on a project together just a few months ago! It’s just very unreal.
