Okay now that really sucks. AVC has always been the only place I felt comfortable checking in on the games reviews and people’s opinions (Morghim is a big gamer, and I want to check reviews before I decide to buy him a game as a gift). The commentariat has been a group of people who I know and trust for opinions on

It’s also impossible to to follow conversations because they move. It doesn’t sort by either most popular, most recent, or chronologically, so the comments are just a random mish-mash.

Dang it, Iceland Air is one of the cheapest carriers to get to Europe. But if this is going to be on their flights, I don’t know. They should go back to just having the weirdest selection of in-flight music to listen to.

Hat! You’re here!

Oh man that score. It’s fantastic. And I honestly think that movie is Hugh Jackman’s best performance.

Also in light of Aronofsky’s past works, it should be clear.

Yeah I preferred the joke way back during the start of the campaign when I Seth Meyers (I think?) described them as the “kids from the rival summer camp across the lake”. Which conveyed the same joke but a little more subtly.

My theory is the stroke he had was secretly his second lifetime kicking in.

The old man’s still an artist with the Thompson.

I definitely did not get that movie the first time around. Then it was funny for a while and then it came back to being weird and tired. I think it’s like the Simpsons rake gag. I’m sure it’ll come back around again.

The key is to skip the first season, for sure.

We actually watched all of the one he did on Lewis & Clark when I was in middle school (I live in the northwest). It’s a good one and uses their journals as the basis of most of it. And brings in some gorgeous photography of the American West.

Her recounting of him riling up a crowd by mentioning her and pointing to her is deeply unsettling and scary. I probably would have immediately quit after that.

Given the rather dismal job my high school history class did in covering Vietnam, I will definitely be watching this. I get that a documentary shouldn’t be a substitute for a textbook, but when it’s a multi-hour Ken Burns project and your textbook was about 15 years out of date, sometimes that’s the better option.

The livestream is on her facebook page.

Well not him perhaps, but certainly his rape-apologist parents.

Criminal justice professors get to have the last judgment. That’s fantastic.

There’s a reason no one has really tried to adapt Faulkner to film. And it’s not because they didn’t have Franco’s oh-so-enlightened understanding of the material. It’s because his novels are damn near un-filmable and at the very least don’t translate well to that media. They’re some of the most internal monologue

At this point, if it’s an indie Australian or New Zealand film, there’s basically a 90% chance that Sam Neil is in it.

Michael Palin’s in it?! That’s awesome. He’s been my favorite Python for ages.
