Forget Hallelujah, the assassination set to that ending song from War of the Roses is probably my favorite dramatic moment in this show's history.

Also, "I think I've been poisoned by my constituents!" may beat out "Wild card, bitches, yeeeeeehaw!" for me now.

I feel like the episode was struggling in B territory up until the limo scene, when it rocketed to A++, then back down to B. So the A- average seems appropriate.

This review exactly mirrors my own thoughts. Great premise, but the execution got weaker as the novel progressed, and by the end it just got boring. I love Magary's writing and will likely buy his next novel, too, but hopefully it will pay more attention to the ending.

I liked how the characters wildly changed their heartfelt convictions multiple times with just a conversation, like what how people do!

"But now those famous double-entendres about Alec Baldwin’s testicles"
Whoa, WHAT?

The E-Sloan arc is the end of mankind
The Eric/Sloan relationship has to be the least interesting arc in the history of television, right?

"And again, I can't stress enough the importance of not letting enemy aircraft collide with the Green Death Ray! I don't want to be the dick who keeps harping on that, but let's just avoid it. Alright, go get 'em!"

NES Turtles
"sort of like the underwater level from the NES Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles game, except without the crushing desire to murder the human beings responsible for creating it."

Someone tell me if O'Neal is basing that newswire off a novel so that I can read it.

How about Japanese earthquake jokes??
Does he riff on the Japanese earthquake some more?? Boy, I hope the book didn't go to press too soon for him to go to town on the tornado devastation across the South! He can make so many trailer park jokes, or some other lazy cheap shit! It'll be so shocking and that means funny!

It's embarrassing how hard I laughed at Kyle's head rocketing up and down when getting blasted by the Asian guy's shit. "I BELIEVE IN YOU!"

If they had stayed in the 50s or 60s, they could have gone with a Mad Men-style glamour aesthetic, and they wouldn't have had to do a bunch of dumb explaining about how no one uses trucks anymore.

This is the best quote ever
"I generally have a real strong idea or a strong punchline, and I just try to get to it by rambling around, as I don't like to memorize words."

Didn't MacGruber finally break their back, theatrical-release-wise?

Tedddy Roosevelt
They should make a whole TV movie with Kenan as Teddy Roosevelt spying for the Russians and looking into camera.

Schroeder playing Pathetique
I still remember watching over and over the scene with Schroeder playing Beethoven's Pathetique when I was a little kid. I'd like to think there are more sophisticated, intellectual reasons for why that movement is now my favorite classical piece, but there's probably not.

As an Aaron Sorkin fanboy, my favorite part was when he made fun of how poorly he writes for women.

Wait
Who are all the enemies he's forgiving? Every woman's face?
