Maskatron was the best.

Cozi is rerunning both shows and I've been checking in, reliving my childhood…. God, they are awful to watch now, but I thought they were awesome as a kid. I don't know if the experience can truly be recaptured if you didn't live through those times yourself. I'm guessing modern viewers would find it completely

That's a possibility as well— probably the more interesting possibility, in fact. I do hope they go down this route.

An episode/show where they're "not actually doing much" could be worlds better artistically— they would obviously have to spend a lot more time on character development in such a case. But I'm sure they'd have to pay a steep price, commercially. I imagine most of the audience watches for the action/ spy drama.

Specific politics aside, just looking at it in general terms: Elizabeth is the zealot and Philip is more open-minded and even-keeled, emotionally. The zealot is going to be proved wrong more often than not & the open-minded person is going to be proved right more often than not. If they feel the need to make the

As I mentioned above, I think it's the fact that her father gave his life as a soldier in WWII that ingrained such loyalty in her. (In her mind, she's living up to his example.) Philip probably lost family during the war also, but I'm guessing it was no one as close as a parent. Hence the disparity in fervor.

The whole "Buckwheat Has Been Shot" sketch on SNL at the time was a parody of the news coverage of this event (particularly the coverage of ABC's "Nightline"). So yeah, TV news definitely ran that footage constantly at the time.

There was a babysitter shown once in either the first or second episode, but yeah, they're away from home an awful lot.

I was in elementary school at the time and I don't recall Hinckley's identity being a big secret or a big deal. (I don't think he shared anything else of note beyond this, did he?) When you think about it, sharing this specific information with the neighbors (or anyone really) is not like giving away government

Yeah, that's Elizabeth's blindspot. After living in the U.S. for almost 20 years (and I think the timeframe included the Kennedy assassination, no?), she should have a better idea of how things work here, as Philip observed.

I don't think Elizabeth sees America as the devil; she's just very loyal to her homeland. Her father died protecting that homeland from the Nazis— I think this makes her devotion quite understandable. She's only against the U.S. because the U.S. poses a threat to the USSR.

I must respectfully disagree with your criticisms. In order: Ray was mad because Joshua was wasting his time with a claim he found ridiculous— why would he use this guy's garbage can when he has a dumpster right out back? Hannah was into Joshua because she was lonely and he was good looking (and also possibly because

This is the part of the episode I didn't like. In the pilot, Elizabeth was the zealot who put their mission above all else, and expressed very little sympathy for Philip or even their children. (And this was an enjoyable twist on stereotypes, since it's usually the woman who puts family first & the man who is the

Thanks. As it turns out, it's gotten enough promotion that I was aware of its return. (Now I just have to figure out which channel TBS is on.)

Did you seriously just pose Little Carmine as possibility for putting out a hit on Tony? The same Little Carmine who, just a couple episodes prior, told Tony about the dream he had of his father & how he wanted pursue happiness instead of being boss? (At a time when Tony was the one actually pushing him to take over,

None with any particular need to have him whacked at that specific time, no.
