100 Episodes of the Good Wife. Boo-yah.

thanks for the info! As an American his accent doesn't sound posh to me so I figured I was missing something.

Actually, I mean what his accent indicates about his class identity, etc. to people in Great Britain. What does his accent *read* as to the local audience? I didn't mean if it has special significance in the show itself.

Can anyone explain Matt Smith's accent as the Doctor? By "explain" I mean…inform me if there are any cultural associations with it? (As 9 and 10 accents each seem to have some significance).

I liked this more than last week, because last week a lot of people felt kind of out of character. This week the only person I felt acted out of character a bit was Diane but we weren't seeing much about her inner life this week so I can let it go.

Yeah, that was a weird moment but they had just shown Peter manipulating the hell out of Owen beforehand, so I guess we can chalk that up to Owen being easily swayed by emotions (which Alicia is clearly not).

So here's where I think Alicia leaving because of Will isn't really about romance at all. Leaving Will is, yes, 1) getting away from temptation, but 2) keeping her family together, 3) remaining the first-wife of Illinois, and 4) building a career that isn't dependent on Will to support her / give her opportunities

Saw it last night and thought it was really good. Definitely worth seeing, and the performances / casting was excellent.

It's probably just a question of interpretation — I felt Alicia didn't yield very much in her suspicion of Marilyn, but I agree she did recognize Cary could be a weak link in the future.

I would agree with this except Alicia was cool with her, then warmed when she got sick and then went subzero when she thought Marilyn was looking to hurt Peter. Unless that's to show that Alicia's getting better at being ruthless (which could also be the point).

I felt the episode stumbled in 3 ways all related to sex / sexuality:

I really wonder if they would go that far…I feel like they wouldn't punish Alicia that much but the fact this is even a possibility means we should be in for some exciting storytelling for the rest of the year (not clear to me if Good Wife has a sixth season although I hope it does).

Angry Will is surprisingly great. More Cary always good. This season is just the best.

Yeah, my point is that eventually hitting the fan gets old. You can't do it again and again. Which is why new "shocking" revelations in season 3 of Scandal aren't landing very well.

The Good Wife! Last week was insanely good but I think the fact that everything is new (situationally speaking) will help keep momentum for quite a bit (because you can't do "Hitting the Fan" every week or else you are going to look like…Scandal Season 3 I guess).

Yeah, I hope the show will go there (i.e. Alicia see a bit of backlash to using her husband's power in this way)…I think they will (there was too much acceptance of unethical behavior here to just let go) but I wonder how long they are going to build to it…

This is why I wonder what the hell is happening with them as a married couple…in a weird way, I feel like this entire sexual interlude was another example of Will "provoking" something in Alicia. (Not as a lover, but as an enemy). In other words, Alicia's adrenaline and excitement right now are in response to Will's

Will has never bested Peter in a verbal match. I don't know if we'll ever see it happen but man, Will, who is bitchy enough to match Patty Nyholm quip for quip, can't get one up over on Peter? Something weird is happening there….

Yup, this was dumb. But he's in his going to the mattresses mode so I guess he can't see how Diane is positioned right now (very awkwardly…now he's pushing her back to Will and the partnership).

Peter's playing fast and loose with ethical concerns already…so I expect this will blow up by the end of the season.
