One thing that Judgment Night does exceptionally well, in my opinion, is suffuse the entire episode with gloom.  I agree that James Franciscus (star of Beneath the Planet of the Apes) is terrible as the contrite German lieutenant, and the twist is over-sold, but the funereal tone of the entire episode works so well

Great writeup.  One question (or perhaps a quibble).  You mention that the viewers knows a gunshot is going to happen next, but I always read into it somewhat differently.  And more bleakly, if that's even possible.  I always assumed he wouldn't even have the solace of suicide, since he left the gun at the ruined

Yeah that makes sense I guess.  I never cared for the episode that much, so maybe I was always working on ways to improve it.

Does anyone else feel that Escape Clause would have had a better twist if the main character had assumed he would have had no need for an "escape clause," rejecting the Devil's offer and then getting "life" imprisonment?

Really nice review here Rabin

Another terrific writeup.  Wish this would have started, say, 8 years ago when I was watching the marathons every year and had read Zicree cover to cover too many times and needed some new analysis

Love that you guys are doing this.  No mention of the original, 'twistier' ending to Where is Everybody?

Noel I'm as dorky as you are!
I also keep such a list of movies. Yayy I'm not aloooooooooone
