No horse in the race, but the Pitchfork review really lays it out why the album isn't very good.  I don't see the same scholarship with the AV Club review, beyond the usual gormless nuggets like "it really nails the feeling of adolescent, limitless power" (as most overloud cock-inflected rock is wont to do, natch).
