this is awesome , great colour, thanks

My actual nomination: The last three episodes of the early 70s spy show Callan, collectively known as "The Richmond Files". Edward Woodward as Callan vs. T.P. McKenna as Richmond. Two of the best actors of all time and the first part is virtually a two-hander between them. Plus Anthony Valentine as Meares. Plus the

sonic CD?

Fair point. I think I've got the first three seasons on DVD somewhere myself actually.

What about Dennis Potter's The Singing Detective? Absolute masterpiece.

I think one can argue that South Park kept it going for more seasons - 13 maybe? The show evolved plenty over this time, had less eps per season and kept it's creative core, which is probably why this was possible. 16 years in it hasn't sunk anywhere near the depths that the Simpsons did….

I think season 1 of The Simpsons is ridiculously underrated. Maybe a bit slower paced than the next few seasons but still had an awesome bunch of great eisodes. Remember it was S1 that kicked off "Simpsonsmania" at the start of the 90s

lolz how long since you've watched those early episodes of The Bill? Galloway was awesome, especially that episode where he investigates the race attacks against Indians. Still though….it's not exactly The Wire

except with semen…

exactly! the third time killed me. given the nature of the show i'd say we might hear more about that in the future

I never thought i'd laugh so hard at the line "her best friend drowned in a pool".
