For some years, I had a copy of the score for Black Angels on my wall (it's nine oversized pages).  Like the music, it's gorgeous, dense, and scary.

His last conversation with Vic is amazing.  He's done what he wanted to do, and now he's just gonna leave.  I suspect the key to Danny Pino's performance is that no matter what, Armadillo is always at peace.

Who's awesome?  That'd be YOU.

Was totally bored the first 20 minutes because it felt like another cop drama with stock characters and great production values.  And then Exley just completely and precisely sells everyone out and I was in the presence of genius.  I got introduced to so much awesome in that film—Curtis Hanson, Guy Pearce, James

Grabbed one of the 28 Days Later comics out of library.  Sucked.

Hildegard von Bingen - Song adapted for solo viola
Harry Partch - "San Francisco (newsboy cries)"
Gustav Mahler - Symphony #7
The Clash - "Armagideon Time"
Ramblin' Thomas - "Poor Boy Blues"

Ocean's 12:  the Rat Pack Ocean's 11, directed by Jean-Luc Godard.  You can quote me.

We WAAAAAAAAAARNED you. Or we should have.  After season 5 ended, I said Morgan Freeman's line from Seven:  "you realize this isn't gonna have a happy ending."  I'll let you find out if I was right.

Hmm. Does Andrea Dworkin get an "additional dialogue" credit, or at least a footnote?

Either explain to me what the fuck you're doing on this island, PolarBears (and there better be extensive footnotes and an annotated bibilography), or get your ass back to the Pole.

I'm posting to the end of the series no matter what the AV Club overlords decide.  Hope to see you all there.

I agree with Shawn Ryan's comment that no matter what Jace felt, he couldn't figure out a way to have consequences in Julien's marriage in the time frame of the show.  It's interesting to contrast the storytelling method (and, for that matter, the way we watch) with other shows that are more into theme and less into

Oh hells yeah.  One of the great sucker-punch movies of all time; it feels like a light caper film with a great feel for West LA at night, and then that moment in the airport just snaps it all around and reveals something deep and painful.  (Also one of Goldblum great performances in his mid1980s Triptych of Nerds:
