Blowing Muses: you answered your own question there. Hypocrisy (if you want to be charitable, internal conflict) becomes interesting when the hypocrite gets confronted—in other words, when there's drama. (And of course, The Shield created a lot of opportunities for that in the third act.) A better phrasing would have

SPOILERS FOR THE WHOLE SERIES

No, but only because you haven't seen the final season yet; the one-story structure makes every season better than the last. But I would absolutely say it was the best season of TV ever at the time—Lost 4 and Breaking Bad 4 hadn't happened yet. (Buffy 5 would be my vote for best season ever pre-Shield.)

MORE SPOILERS

One thing you see in these episodes is that Vic is all about his kids, and very little about Corinne.  The line is "she took my kids!" not "she left!"; Vic still isn't thinking about what it's like for her, he's already seeing her as an antagonist.

Who's the "John Krasinski" in that sentence?

I have no idea how anyone with access to the whole series could hold themselves to one or two episodes a week.  How are you feeling now?

Hmmm.  What was her take on American Horror Story?

We've got nothing better to do
Than hate-watch and have a couple of brews
Don't want plot or character, we don't wanna know!
We're dedicated to our shitty shows!

THE NECESSARILY SPOILERY POST

The second season premiere is a unique episode in a TV series, especially if it’s doing well.  If a series goes badly and changes direction (coughwalkingdeadcough), that can happen at any time.  The second season premiere of a good show has to show us that yes, we know what worked and we’re going to keep doing it, and

Bay's entire commentary is justified by one chapter title:  People Have Their Own Ideas About Gravity.

So no more Books section, huh?

OH MY FUCK.  That was Monday, and everything blew to shit on Friday.

It's completely irrational and it all makes sense in the way only film can do.  DO NOT ever try this yourself, you'll only fuck up.

I remember you on the early Buffy boards.  This is what we mean by community—we know something of each other and our history, and dammit, we know the things we love.  I claim my commenting identity as part of who I am too, and will be around, here or wherever the next place will be.

You're (snif) welcome (snif).  Thanks for all you gave us here (WHAAAH) and you know what?  Thanks for using my AVQ&A idea. )': )': (-; D':

Pretty sure we all need hugs right now.
