I find it hard to believe they couldn't find any room for one of their most popular ones if they really wanted to. I remember last season there was a quote from some executive about moving it to the summer

They'll have finished them well in advance of June though. AMC did the same thing with season 4. They held the premiere back till July even though it was ready to go months before that.

@Guy with dashes for a name (I can't tag you)- Like I say, the development of this show began with CBS approaching the BBC producers to do a remake- They can hardly pretend it doesn't exist because of the success of that show, it completely does.

…If I was making financial gain from doing so, then yeah.

I guess, but like I say, being released directly after the huge success of Sherlock and its origins as an attempted spin-off to that show make Elementary extremely suspect.

IT'S MIKE WEEK ON THE AV CLUB!!!

It's not as simple as that- For a start, the premise is specifically an adaptation of Sherlock Holmes set in the 21st century, which actually hasn't been done before. CBS coming up with this premise directly after another, hugely successful show has just used it is hardly a coincidence.

Are you sure about that? I was reading that Rolling Stone feature the other day and Cranston said that the only time Gilligan's ever given him any information about the future is when they were filming the flashforward with Walt buying a gun, and that all Gilligan would tell him was that Walt was coming back to

I don't think there's any season you should stop watching. For me, it probably reached its peak around season 3 or 4, and yes there are certain episodes later on where Peggy's characterisation is mishandled in a way that becomes annoying, but overall the show's quality remains really consistent and it's never anything
