Poster of Mary Louise Parker with a snake wrapped around her naked body
Sigmund Freud is getting morning wood in his grave.

Science Court hardly ever followed procedure
but Professor Parsons was my introduction to the brilliance of H. Jon Benjamin, so I will allow it.

When will Billy Joel get the hipster renaissance he is inevitably heading for?
Everyone keeps telling me "never"

Not Richie Havens!?!
Don't tell people to skip Richie Havens… He's over-ignored as it is. And that guitar with the hole in it is totally bad-ass!

Anything that's even remotely true.

Nanalan'
More adorable than trippy, but the puppets are kind of freaky, this is another Canadian kids show from a few years ago about a little girl who spends days at her Nana's house. It may be my favorite kids show of all time. When I was working at a hospital one summer I got addicted to watching it on Saturday

Chapi and Chapeau
Stop motion animation for little little kids. Freaky stuff, and very cool. Look it up.

It is indeed the greatest thing ever. I used to watch Lazy Town, I can't explain why fully other than coincidentally I am usually too lazy to find the remote, and when i found that over the winter it made my life fantastic. Whoever did that deserves a medal.

3St. Louis classics and one underrated gem
Becky queen of carpets and her intense plastic surgery come to mind as well as Buckley the talking dog from Insta-credit Automart. (Buckley inspired one of my buddies in high school to start laughing so uncontrollably he got kicked out of class twice) Dirt Cheap's "The more

John Kerry is doober
The fact that any part of the liberal movement saw John Kerry as some kind of answer to the problems presented by the Bush administration is proof that liberalism needs a satirical kick in the plums every now and then. They hardly ever get mocked by anyone with any teeth and brains (they are

Why aren't they doing texts from last night?

Mr Haneke the Chrismas Poo
He loves me and I love you

I say It's a SWEATER at least once everytime gifts are given. I also quote the entire Jefe El Guapo conversation starting with "Perhaps it's because you are turning 40 today?" way more than is socially appropriate.

Clone High
I can't ever stop quoting Clone High. Ring a ding ding Mr Butlertron and Best Dudes 4 Ever? Best Dudes 4 ever? are in high rotation. But my all time favorite is the deleted line from Julius Caesar sadly missing from the the first episode, (making it super obscure cause it never happened) Veni, Vidi, BOOYAH!

I actually think psuedo-leftist horseshit politics is a really good way to describe most things.

I will admit that I have only seen Lancelot du Lac and have always meant to see Pickpocket but can't bring myself to do it after the horrifying hour and a half that was that Lancelot. If someone can defend that movie I would be glad to hear an attempt.

I mean, have you truly ruled out that Bresson may be non-Hollywood shit? Where's the film making?

Velvet Underground
I listened to their album with Nico several times and couldn't get into it at all. Then a few years later I checked out their self titled album (the closet mix) and flipped my fucking shit for it. I figured out that I love the Velvet Underground. I just fucking hate Nico.

I was speaking mostly on the possibility that if he were to do something bad, I would still love it beyond all reason. Like that could ever happen.
And I watch Intolerable Cruelty with increasing frequency and think there is no guilt in finding pleasure there.

David Cronenberg can do no wrong
no matter what he does, especially his latest forays into almost straight crime-genre stuff, I will declare that it is brilliant.
Also, Winona Ryder.
